Well, let me begin by saying that I was born on March 1st,
1982 in Leningrad, USSR. I went to three different kindergardens for about
3 years, and then, at the age of 7 I started going to middle
school #100 of Viborgky district. When I was in the middle of 6th
grade, I moved to
Houston, TX
. Afterwards, in
fall of 1996 I came to Boston, MA. When I was in Russia, I used
to attend three different art classes each week, one of them was
oriented toward learning design, the other was about working with
clay and ceramics and the third on was on photography which was
taught by my own father (34 KB
photo, taken I believe in 1958, my father Victor with his
grand-father [my great grand-father] Edgar). From the earliest
conscious time I can remember myself I was very interested in
cars. Perhaps that is due to my grand-father, Boris (57 KB
,
only 2 years old)who owned a car, which by Soviet standards was
very respected. In particular he owned
GAZ-M-20
"Pobeda",
GAZ-M-21
"Volga" and his last car was
GAZ-24
"Volga". That's why a large section of my page is
dedicated to
Soviet Car
Industry. Interestingly, it were not just the pretty new cars
that got my attention, but also the "average,
unattractive" vehicles. Throughout my life, cars remained
the favorite subject. In more recent time I also became
interested in railroads and trains, that's why I give you this
link to the
BEST USSR Railroad
pages on the net (entirely made by Dima Zinoviev). Just about
every year that I live in the US I go back to Russia. My main and
favorite activity is Shotokan Karate which I started in 1996 with
an instructor named Peyman Beigi who is from Iran.
