Apparently, production of GAZ-11-73 was halted during the war, when all industry was working on the vehicles needed for defense, rather then passenger cars. Interestingly, the phaeton model GAZ-11-40 had V-shaped windshield glass, while the basic sedan model had a flat glass. Also interesting is that sedan GAZ-11-73 and the pickup GAZ-11-41 had doors with rear hinges, while the cabriolet GAZ-11-40 had front hinges. GAZ-11-41 pickup which was planned for production only existed as prototype and instead GAZ-M-415 pickup was made with GAZ-M engine.
