Originally named ZIL-135, this truck was mass produced only in Bryansk while ZIL made only a few experimental trucks. BAZ-135 was a chassis for military use, while BAZ-135 L4 was more of a civil flatbed truck. Steering wheels were located on 1st and 4th axles.

* This BAZ-135 is a Frog-7 [free rocket over ground-refers to unguided, spinstabilised artillery rockets] launcher. Frog-7 is about 9.0 m long, 600mm in diameter, 2,500 kg mass and a range of at least 60 km. (seen in the background is the BM-21 on Ural-375 chassis.)
