Technical information above is for ZIL-158V, which is a modification, with minor changes, of ZIL-158. Some of the differences include ZIL-158V having an improved transmission, one disk clutch, gearbox with synchronization of 2 & 3 gears and 4 & 5 gears, the 5th gear itself [ZIL-158 had only 4 forward gears], different main gear ratio.
In 1961, production of this bus was completely handed over to
Likinsky Autobus Plant -- LiAZ
ZIL-159 appears to have been a modification in which the
engine was located in the rear part of the bus. (14 KB b/w, front view [104])
