As you can see, these cars of early 1980's are still produced today and some of them are imported. A new car costs around $5 or 6 thousand. The quality usually leaves the owner wishing for better times. This car, as it is sometimes referred to as "Lada", although "Zhiguli" is the more common name used as collective term for all VAZes from 2101-2107

There are also VAZ-2107 made with 1.690L fuel injector engine, which is the most economical one. Along with that, 1.300L carburator version is produced.
