Main model was produced 1957-1959 and had many components, including the engine, from GAZ-M-21. This used to be a fairly widespread minibus, especially in cities not too far from Latvia. RAF-977D was the basic model. RAF-977I was an ambulance model (intended for a driver, 2 people on stretchers and 4 medical personel persons), RAF-977E "Turist" was a model for tourists (w/ transparent hatches in the roof, more comfortable seats and a radio), RAF-977DM was a modernized model and RAF-977K was a metal van with no windows.
There is also a RAF-980D model which was a trailer intended for towing passenger trailers on closed grounds. (68 KB color, side view, bad quality [28/7])
There are also rare RAF-978 "Spriditis". (10 KB b/w, front view [104]), (14 KB b/w, front view [104])
ErAZ-762 is a modification of RAF-977. It is a cargo van and does not have any side windows. I believe that all of the component except the body were made by original RAF. (38 KB color, front view [121]), (34 KB b/w, side view [16]) (47 KB color, rear view [3])
