These vehicles, although with different engines, clearly form a closely related family. They, in fact, replaced the previous ZIL-130 (4 X 2) and ZIL-131 (6 X 6) models. Lets look at these trucks in more detail. ZIL-4331 was first developed in 1980, while ZIL-130 was still at the height of its production. In 1985/1986 ZIL-4331 was put on the conveyer, but ZIL-130 was continued to be made at ZIL factory until late 1980's. Then ZIS-130 production line was moved to Ekaterinburg where it became called ZIL-UAmZ-130 [Uralsky Automobile Plant]. Now, the (6 X 4) ZIL-133 that is presented on this page replaced the previous (6 X 4) ZIL-133. In 1995 ZIL-133GYa was replaced by ZIL-133-05A and ZIL-6404-30 with a new driver's cabin and a ZIL produced diesel engine [ZIL-645 and ZIL-645.1].

The parameters in the above table are given primarily for board platform trucks. The AMO ZIL also sells these trucks as chassis, tractor trailers, isothermal vans, dump-trucks, fire-trucks, etc. The above data, with the exception of very few series with Caterpillar engines, holds for all of those models. Obviously, the mass and dimensions vary, but not dramatically.
