In the lower left of the engine compartment (located in the rear
trunk) [il. 1, il. 2] are the gas heater, fuel pump, and respective
hoses, etc. The cooling fan of the engine (since this is an air cooled
engine) sucks in air from the vent grills located on both sides of rear
part of the vehicle [il. 3] and exhausts the used air out of the slot
behind the license plate mounting on the deck lid [il.4]. The engine
has separate cast iron cylinders, 1 head per bank with a separate oil
drain tube, 1 rocker arm shaft per bank. Alternator [G114, 13 a, 160 w]
is located behind the fan, with a separate air cooling hose. Single
barrel downdraft carburetor [K-123], manual choke. Cast aluminum oil pan
with electric oil temp gauge display on dashboard. [110] |
