Engine Description of ZAZ-965

In the lower left of the engine compartment (located in the rear trunk) [il. 1, il. 2] are the gas heater, fuel pump, and respective hoses, etc. The cooling fan of the engine (since this is an air cooled engine) sucks in air from the vent grills located on both sides of rear part of the vehicle [il. 3] and exhausts the used air out of the slot behind the license plate mounting on the deck lid [il.4]. The engine has separate cast iron cylinders, 1 head per bank with a separate oil drain tube, 1 rocker arm shaft per bank. Alternator [G114, 13 a, 160 w] is located behind the fan, with a separate air cooling hose. Single barrel downdraft carburetor [K-123], manual choke. Cast aluminum oil pan with electric oil temp gauge display on dashboard. [110]
