UMZ-6L/6M was intended for management and harvest of tilled crops with hook-on, half-hook-on and trailer-type machinery; as well as for transportation of cargo. These tractors were made on Yuzhny (Southern) Machine-building Plant (1970-1977) in Dnepropetrovsk. Overall, 1,150,000 UMZ-6L/6M were produced.
