DT-54 was intended for ploughing with 4- and 5-corpus plough and work with other agricultural trailer-type machinery of general purpose including a possibilty of using power from the shaft of power output. It was produced on Stalingrad Tractor Plant (1949-1963), on Harkovsky Tractor Plant (1949-1961) and on Altaisky Tractor Plant (1952-1979) Overall, 957,900 tractors were made. A modification DT-54A was also made.
