This caterpillar tractor was designed and constructed by F.A.Blinov. It is intended for agricultural use with trail-type machinery as well as for transporting. It was manufactured on "Iron and mechanical plant of Blinov" located in village Balakovo, Saratov region. Blinov's tractor had a steam engine and dual track steam system. All mechanisms were mounted directly on the frame; the vertical boiler was placed in the center. Crude oil served to fuel this machine. Two tanks; one for water and one for fuel were placed closer to the front part of the tractor. The power source was made up of two steam machines. Also notable is the original chassis design of Blinov. It consisted of two caterpillar belts, a pair of driving and a pair of steering wheels as well as two pairs of supporting rollers located between the driving and steering wheels. This caterpillar tractor was operated by two men: the driver managed the tractor from the box, while the engineer took care of the boiler and steam cylinders. The engineer's seat was behind the boiler. Not a single tractor of Blinov survived to this day, so the photo above depicts a scale model made according to the original technical drawings.
